The Altoona Mirror reports that William Thopmson, convicted in the brutal murders of Raymond and Marjoire Bracken back in 1991, has appealed his life sentences. According to the report, Thompson claims that his counsel at the time was ineffective, and he did not get a fair trial. Thompson was charged and convicted of a home invasion and killing the Brackens by stabbing them. Thompson has maintained his innocents for decades, saying that DNA evidence did not link him to the crime. Prosecutors said that a ring belonging to Raymond Bracken was found at the home of Thompsons girlfriend at the time. The appeal is now before the State Superior Court.
