A report by WJAC indicates that the Qualfon Company call center announced on Friday that it will lay off more than 200 people by march. The company says that significant downturn in client accounts prompted the layoffs. 206 people will lose their jobs by March 24th. Just last February, Qualfon announced that it was hiring some 400 people as the call center opened its doors, where it cited large company growth and success, and would become one of Johnstown’s largest employers. The layoffs actually began back on January 23rd.
