WTAJ reports that people 60 years of age and older can get free assistance preparing their taxes thanks to the Cambria County Office on Aging. Seniors can get the help at the Johnstown Senior Center from 11am-2pm Mon-Fri. The program will assist low income seniors, those on fixed incomes and those with disabilities. Volunteers will be on site that are trained by the irs to help prepare returns. You must bring copies of your last tax returns, along with social security number, a photo ID, information for credits and deductions, all w-2’s and 1099 forms. You do not need an appointment.
