According to an Associated Press report, the company has to pay a fine of $14,500 after two non compamy workers fell into a partially filled vat of chocolate last year at the m/m mars factory located in Elizabethtown. The workers were brought in from an outside firm to work in the vats, but they were not authorized to do so, and were not properly trained according to OSHA. The two workers were rescued when first responders had to cut a hold in the bottom of the vat to allow the workers to escape. Both were taken to a hospital, with one having been lifeflighted.
