The Altoona Mirror reports that charges have been filed against 37 year old Matthew Hazlett for allegedly threatening another inmate if he didn’t pay him $200 a week. Hazlett is also accused of threatening to stab another inmate in the neck following a disturbance in a cell block where Hazlett was not permitted to be. Hazlett is also facing charges outside of the jail for a 2022 case which includes charges of burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. He was arraigned on Tuesday for the prison incidents and charged with criminal attempt at burglary, making terroristic threats and simple assault.
