The unofficial holiday weekend has arrived, and both borough and Penn State officials say they want to keep the level of partying to a minimum. State college police have asked Greek fraternities to limit social events that include alcohol and dorms on campus will have a one guest per room limitation. Any student that is caught drinking or charged with any violations will be subject to discipline by the office of student conduct. Borough Manager Tom Fountaine says that state pattys day resembles Mardi Gras type celebrations, and that is not a good thing. State Pattys day was started by three students because st. Partick’s day usually falls during spring break, and students could not “celebrate”.
