Television news reports indicate that 36 year old Fernando Guzman will stand trial for the stabbing death of Brian Lyncha last august following a fight between the two men. Guzman s accused of stabbing Lyncha in the backyard of a residence in rush twp. Guzman claims to have stabbed Lyncha in self defense, after he claims that lyncha pushed him off of his bicycle and began to beat him. That is when Guzman stabbed the victim to allegedly protect himself. Jury selection is slated for July 10th.
