A report by WTAJ indicates that Senator Casey is sponsoring a bill called fire station, that would create a $750,000,000 fund to be housed within the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Washington to get funds to help modernize fire and EMS departments across America. One fire chief told channel 10 that there are more than 2000 fire companies across Pennsylvania and this bill wold certainly help them with construction or equipment issues. Another chief said that while fundraisers help, it is becoming increasingly hard for folks to keep donating. No word on how this legislation would be funded.
