The officers and first responders who answered he call for a potential active shooter 2 weeks ago were recognized yesterday prior to Altoona’s game with Chambersburg. Police, EMS, AMED and swat team members were honored for their quick response and action to secure the buildings after the district received a swatting call about an active shooter. A school district employee told the media that the district is grateful to have a full time police dept within its ranks. One officer said that if an emergency does occur, the district is ready to handle the situation.
