A report by WTAJ indicates that a recent water quality report authorized by the Environmental Protection Agency states that water coming from the AWA is clean. The report also stated that as a whole, Pennsylvania has the 4th highest amount of lead pipes out of the 50 united states. The report also highlighted that the water authority will be checking all 23,000 of its service lines to check for any lead content, and to see if any of those lines need replaced. The AWA says it will use historical information, blueprints and capital records to try to identify each and everyone one of these water lines.
