WTAJ reports that Penndot has released some if its roadwork schedule, and one of Altoona’s busiest intersections will be getting a face lift. The intersection at 6th Ave and 7th Street is in line for upgrades including street drainage work, ADA accessible ramps, new traffic lights and other improvement projects. The work will make it somewhat easier to get to UPMC Altoona, which is located on Chestnut Avenue and 7th Street. Drivers are to be aware of possible traffic pattern changes in this area. The $1.4 million project will begin this month, and is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
