The state game commission has recommended and passes several changes to the 23-24 hunting calendar. Most notably…there is a change to black bear season. Several units have been removed fro the extended season. Archery season for elk will be a week later in the calendar this year to allow for more time to get the licenses out to those who apply. Elk licenses will be awarded by a lottery system, and hunters should apply for which season they wish to hunt. And for white tailed deer hunters, there are no significant changes. There will be 1,095,000 antlerless deer licenses allocated for this year, which is an increase from last season.
