Firefighter charged with starting brush fires

A report by WJAC indicates that officials with the Dept of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry have charged 18 year old Adam Ewing of 3 Springs with setting 5 brush fires in February and March. The report indicates that investigators concluded that all 5 fires ere started with a brand of toilet paper, which was found at Ewing’s home. Investigators also reported that Ewing reportedly called in all 5 fires after he allegedly started them. Three firefighters were injured during one of these fires. Ewing is charged with causing or risking a catastrophe, and maliciously setting or causing a fire. He is being held in the Huntingdon County jail on $500,000 bond. Ewing is a member of the 3 Springs Volunteer Fire Company.
