News reports suggest that fire companies were sent out to a home on Avelle Street and Scotch Valley Road around11:30 Sunday night for a garage fire. That fire then reportedly spread to the attic of the home it was attached to. Fire fighters from both Phoenix and Geeseytown volunteer companies battled the blaze until roughly 3 am Monday. All, occupants of the house reportedly escaped into the night without injury, and officials do not know what started the fire, which is now under investigation. No other information was available.
