Murderer gets appeal of his conviction

An Altoona Mirror reports indicates that John Grazioli shot and killed his wife Amanda Schmitt March 8, 2018 while she slept in their home in Millcreek. Grazioli told police he had bought a handgun for his wife for her birthday, and it accidentally went off while he was showing her the gun. Grazioli then reportedly left a suicide note stating he killed his wife, but he did not take his own, instead he allegedly confessed the crime to a local priest. In the appeal, Grazioli cited ineffective counsel during his trial, and the state superior court granted his appeal request, saying that certain issues raised after his conviction warrant new counsel
