The Altoona Mirror reported that Herbert Lee Shank of Claysburg pleaded guilty in court to charges that he sexually assaulted a woman whom he was living with last year. Judge Tim Sullivan then sentenced shank to 8-24 months behind bars. But since shank had been in the county jail since last August, he was recommended for release. As part of his probation, Shank was ordered to have no contact at all with the victim. By law, Shank is to register as a sex offender, but his attorney says he may challenge that in court.
