The Altoona Mirror reports that the board has passed the preliminary 23-24 spending plan by a 5-4 vote, that will increase property taxes .04 mills. When the budget is adopted next month, that tax hike will increase property tax bills by $45 for the 23-24 school year. The budget, as it stands now, has a deficit of just under $254,000. The budget will now stand for public inspection for 30 days before a final vote is taken in June. The board also approved the budget for the Greater Altoona Careeer and Technology Center, of which Williamsburg’s contribution will be nearly $32,000 a month.
