The report indicates that the board this week, approved its preliminary 23-24 budget, including a 2.85% tax increase for Blair, Huntingdon and Centre county residents that encompass the district. The tax hikes vary from county to county. In Blair, the average median tax increase will be $22, in Centre County, the hike will cost an extra $14, and will jump to nearly $60 for median households in Huntingdon County. The district hopes to pull in nearly $6.9 million in tax revenues from all three counties. Board member Randy Miles said that costs for district continue to rise, and they have to get tax money when they can, and he realizes that it will be a burden to the taxpayer. Final adoption is scheduled for June 13th.
