In a report from Cambria County, authorities have charged 39 year old Florentina Mayko with health care fraud for a period of two years. The reports suggests that Mayko, who at the time was the CEO of a group known as Pain Medicine of York a.k.a PMY, was allegedly billing medicare for false urine tests that supposedly belonged to chronic opioid patients. Mayko was repeatedly warned to stop the practice, after a physician friend of hers was arrested. PMY ceased operations soon after the arrest of Mayko was announced in 2019. PMY allegedly billed medicare $10 million from 2017-9, and actually received $4 million in payouts. Mayko is facing 10 years of jail time if convicted.
