According to all reports, mail carriers brought back a slew of bags containing non perishable food items to deliver to local food banks. One TV report indicated that the collection was so large, that volunteers had to help the carriers bring in all of the food collected. Food will still be collected by postal carriers today, but the drive was for Saturday only. You can still donate today. Just put out the food items you wish to donate by your mailbox, and it will be picked up. In all, 5 local food pantries will be helped out by the stamp out hunger drive.
