The annual Hoopsfest 3 on 3 basketball event is set to take place once again in Altoona. The event is scheduled for Saturday July 22nd, and organizers say this could be the biggest one ever. Hoopsfest is a fund raiser that helps youth and community organizations, and was held in Tyrone for many years. It was brought to Altoona for 2022 and was such a success, that it is likely to expand somewhat this year. Teams of 3 or 4 can register for the event, and the cost is $150, which does carry as non refundable $25 deposit. There are 3 divisions of groups that can register including adults, boys and girls. The deadline to register is Saturday July 15th. Jim Kilmartin says that he is expecting to get as many as 250-300 teams this year.
