A report by WTAJ indicates that the Blair County chapter of the NAACP along with numerous UPMC staffers joined together for the third annual White Coats against Racism kneel in. The protest was to bring awareness for the death of George Floyd by former police officer Derek Chauvin. That was the original idea, now the kneel in is to signify the battle for what some are calling healthcare discrimination. The kneel in lasted for 9 min and 29 sec. A hospital official says that the hospital needs to continue to promote diversity, such as hiring a diverse staff and hiring effective interpreters to help communicate more efficiently.
