According to the Altoona Mirror, the trial for 43 year old Heather Evans of Altoona will have to wait until she has been evaluated at a state hospital. Evans is accused of setting fire to a home that killed 75 year old Mark Stewart in February of 2022. Evans told police that she claims to be an Egyptian goddess and a white witch. Her attorney told Judge Jackie Bernard that his client has been recommended to be sent to Torrance State Hospital for a mental evaluation. Until that happens, her trial will be on hold. A Chester County psychiatrist already has testified that Evans is incompetent to stand trial and cannot help with her own defense.
