In an Altoona Mirror report, the airport board says that it would like to construct a new corporate hangar, and update the airports stormwater management system. However, federal funds will be hard to come by. The entire project looks like it will cost in the neighborhood of $2.2 million, and the money could come from a $1 billion infrastructure law now on the books. But that $1 billion is for the entire nation, and is spread out over a 5 year period. Even if they got the 5 year funding, airport officials say they will be short of funds to complete the project. Overall the airport seems to be doing fine with rental car numbers up 33%, and ridership has increased since contour airlines took over the airport.
