According to a repot by WTAJ, Giant Food corporation handed out a total of some $300,000 in community improvement grants. Then money went to schools in several states and across Pa. Indiana, Curwensville and Bellefonte were some of the recipients of the money, which ranged anywhere from $2500 to $20,000 in individual awards. The funding came from a program administered by giant that customers can round up their grocery bill to the next dollar, where in turn which that money goes into the grant program. Total amount raised was $1.4 million.
