News reports indicate that the crowd listened to several speakers tell about the pitfalls of the job, and about the ultimate sacrifice men and women have given for the safety of our county and state. Blair County Sheriff James Ott and others spoke about a growing concern amongst the law enforcement community, which is mental health. He said that many in law enforcement may be suffering as a result of the job, and should seek help. Officers who died in the line of duty in Blair County were honored at the ceremony, with their names being read and roses were presented for each officer named.
