According to a report in the Altoona Mirror, the attorney for Raymond Oechsle says that he wants a judge to preserve the crime seen for further investigation ahead of a preliminary hearing. Oechsle is charged with the murder of 38 year old Christopher Helsel, whose body was discovered inside Oechsle’s 8th Avenue apartment in April. The defense wants to make sure they have the opportunity to inspect the crime scene, but also said they have not been denied that right. The defense also has requested that they be given photos of the crime scene. Oechsle is charged with first degree murder, but claims he killed Helsel in self defense.
