A report by WJAC indicates that workers began tearing down the building at 408 Main Street in the borough this week. According to video shot at the scene, workers were tearing down the Old Theatre building after the roof partially collapsed. The building has been empty for several decades, and dates back more than 100 years to 1922. All utilities were turned off at the time of the collapse, and the total razing of the building should take a few days. The Excelsior Fire Dept says that Main Street between Cambria and Boyles streets will be closed until further notice.
