WJAC reports that authorities found an inmate at SCI Benner Twp dead inside his cell on Tuesday. The Pa Dept of Corrections released some details about the story. 39 year old Evan Smith was found in his cell just before 2 am Tuesday. He was rushed to Mt. Nittany Medical Center after prison staff and personnel tried to administer life saving measures, but was pronounced dead at 2:30. Smith was serving a 23-47 year sentence for third degree murder in bucks county. No other details were available, and the investigation will continue.
