News reports indicate that troopers were involved in an incident over the weekend that took the life of 59 year old Robbie Saunders the shooting took place in Ligonier Twp on Sunday afternoon,with troopers apparently firing shots that killed Saunders. No details were released about why troopers were sent to the scene. The troopers involved have been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation. Saunders died in the O.R. at Comenaugh Memorial Hospital. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees concluded in his autopsy that Saunders died from a single gunshot wound to his chest.
