The Altoona Mirror reported that a bill currently under consideration in Washington, would make changes to the essential air service program, and cut the passenger subsidy cap that the airport now receives from $1000 to $500. And if passed the bill would then require the airport to come up with a local match, which according to airport manager Tracy Plessinger would be $200,000, money which he says the airport does not have. But a reminder, that the bill is no where near passing, and a different version of the bill in the senate, without the 5% match is on the table.
