It is the annual Blair County household hazardous waste collection, and it is set for Saturday July 29th, from 8am-1pm at the Jaffa Shrine parking lot. This year, you must be pre registered for the event, and you can do that by going to ircenvironment.org. There will be a $20 base charges for all vehicles, plus a charge of 50 cents per pound for all paints. Items that will not be accepted are batteries, medications, smoke detectors, electronics, ammunition, explosives, thermostats and tires. Payment in the form of cash or checks only will be accepted.
