Here is a listing of area live music and online music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, July 21 through Thursday, July 27.
This weekend, community celebrations and events take the spotlight, and local county fair action gets started in the coming week.
Duncansville Community Days takes place Friday and Saturday at Duncansville Memorial Park. This celebration will feature a Stuckey Ford car show on Friday evening and a Duncansville Police Department cornhole tourmanent on Saturday; plus food and refreshments, kids games, pony rides and live music. Shallow 9 entertains on Friday evening, and Zac Grace, Samantha Press and Sweet Desire provide the music on Saturday. Admission throughout the weekend is free.
Patton Fire Company No. 1 presents their 15th annual Firemen’s Jubilee this weekend outside the firehall in downtown Patton. Friday’s activities include a pet and bicycle parade starting at 6 p.m., a cornhole tournament and bucket brigade. Saturday’s activities include fire truck rides, kids’ battle of the barrel and the community parade starting at 6 p.m. Live music is again a part of the Jubilee, with Cambria County rockers Fuse performing on Friday night, and Altoona’s Autumn Rising entertaining on Saturday night. The bands start at 9 p.m. both nights. Admission to the Jubilee is free.
And the area county fair season gets underway this weekend with the Bedford County Fair. The fair officially opens on Sunday, with multiple activities, farm animals, contests and competitions, food and refreshment vendors, and live music each day. See the listing below to find out who is entertaining through Thursday (Friday and Saturday will be included in next week’s listing).
Again, many live music events are happening outdoors and indoors during the next seven days. So check out the listing to see who is performing where, pick your event(s), and – SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC!
