A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that federal regulators are reporting that while NS is acting like it is making changes after the disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, the federal railroad administration says that the rail giant is making the bare minimum effort. And rail administrators said in the report that Norfolk should be doing much more than it is, to improve safety. Norfolk CEO Alan Shaw says his company is not waiting to act, and that it is doing all it can to meet the safety recommendations made by regulators. The National Transportation Safety Board and OSHA are also investigating this case.
