The Altoona Mirror reports that Judge Elizabeth Doyle sentenced Richard Ewing and John Jukes for their part in the beating of a 40 year old inmate who sustained serious injuries. Ewing was given 20-40 years following his conviction, which will increase his sentence to 35-70 years because this latest sentence will run consecutively after his current sentence of 15-30 years is up for drug trafficking. Jukes was given a sentence of 18.5-37 years for his part. 4 other inmates charged with the beating, are still awaiting their court dates.
