Television news reports indicate that the 2 counties will receive just under $1.6 million for traffic safety projects. In Blair County, nearly $695,000 will be headed this way for Altoona for signal modifications on 25th street at Union Avenue. Logan Twp will also be receiving a little more than $707,000 for a signal equipment upgrade on Logan Blvd/Penn Street between Altoona and Hollidaysburg. Centre County will receive $198,000 for an enhanced vehicle detection system on the Benner Pike. Some $36 million dollars in grant money has been disbursed statewide by Penndot.
