A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that an alarm was triggered inside the station medical center yesterday afternoon, sending police to the scene. A dispatcher was apparently heard over the radio telling officers that this was not a drill. Once on scene, officers determined that there was no active shooter, and that the alarm was falsely triggered. They say that UPMC staff was conducting tests on its alarm system when the alarm sounded. The medical center, and Altoona school district buildings were sent into lock down. The immediate area was cleared out around 2:45 yesterday afternoon.
