News reports indicate that police at Pittsburgh Internatinal Airport charged an unidentified man for trying to get a gun through TSA security on Monday. Authorities say the gun was detected while the passengers bag was going through an x-ray checkpoint, and was seized. The report stated that the gun was confiscated and the would be passenger was cited on a weapons charge, and now that person is facing a fine of $15,000. Firearms are not permitted to go through a security checkpoint, but can be stored in a checked bag, provided it is properly and safely secured inside.
