A report out of Harrisburg indicates that the legislature is considering a proposal to move the election from late April to late March to avoid voters having to vote during Passover. Pa has considered moving it’s primary before, but has resisted because an earlier date would push the primary season back into the holiday season for many. One state rep says that pushing the date earlier, would force candidates to gather signatures for petitions into the Christmas holiday time, and says that many of his colleagues are opposed to that. Gov Josh Shapiro is in favor of moving the primary to March.
