A story by WTAJ indicates that the shelter located in Greenwood was closed because of an infestation of bees which caused workers to have to evacuate cats in a quick and timely manner. The report documents that the bees created a large hole in the ceiling at the shelter and filled the room of the cat kennel area. A local pest control company was called in and got several hives that were inside the facility. The shelter is re-opened to the public and the cats wee placed back inside their space.
