A report by WTAJ states that the district has had to eliminate 5 school bus routes because of a shortage of drivers. This has led to longer bus rides for students, and had caused some to actually be late for school. District officials say that even with a new contract with drivers and an increase in pay, it still has had trouble recruiting drivers. If the situation does not improve, district officials say that routes will have to be further altered, and or a mileage limit may have to be enacted. That means the district may have to implement a cut off for how far away students can live in order to get a ride on a school bus.
