Television news reports indicate that State College police have charged 20 year old Ahmed Malqubaisi of the United Arab Emirates with homicide after he struck and killed a jogger earlier this week. Police said that Alqubaisi was driving along east park avenue when he hit 25 year old Lovisa Cronhamre of Sweden. The victim was thrown some 80 feet in the air after she was struck. Police say that Alqubaisi had a pa learners permit, and did not have a licensed driver in the car at the time of the crash. Cronhamre was taken to mt. Nittany Medical Center before being transferred to UPMC Altoona where she died. Alqubaisi is charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter among other charges.
