Democratic candidate Lindsey Powell won a special election held yesterday for the 21st District house seat in Harrisburg. Powell beat republican candidate Erin Connolly for the seat, left vacant when Rep. Sara Innamorato resigned to run for Allegheny county executive. The win means that democrats now once again have control of the house by a 1 vote margin. The legislature will still be split, as Republicans still hold control of the senate by 6 votes in Harrisburg. Pennsylvania still has no budget, but all lawmakers are due back in the capitol by next week.
