In a report by WTAJ, AMED Executive Director Gary Watters said this is one way that AMED can address the ongoing shortage of qualified trained paramedics. AMED will offer courses that will turn EMT’s into advanced emergency responders. Watters also said that the company has purchased 2 SUV’s and will turn them into vehicles for roving paramedics to use. Watters says this will help with the shortage of personnel, and will allow the full time paramedics to get to more serious situations, with the advanced trained EMT’s ready to handle many medical calls.
