According to Pa State Police, the accident happened along Rt. 56 on Quaker Valley Road, just after 7 am yesterday. Troopers say that 43 year old Matthew Myers of Johnstown was driving along the road when he apparently lost control of his jeep wrangler, went into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle. Myers had to be mechanically pulled from the wreckage, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries. Police will investigate to determine what caused Myers to crash into the second vehicle.
