A report by WJAC says that a $5000 reward is being offered for information that will help solve the case of Nicholas Grassmyer. The 16 year old was found dead off of state route 865 near Bellwood back in 1977. Grassmyer was a member of the Bellwood Antis football team, who played Tyrone just 2 days before his body was discovered on September 11, 1977. Since then, police have been stymied in solving the case. Cause of death was listed as a skull fracture. His death was ruled a homicide. Police did say that Grassmyer was seen walking along 869 heading toward Rt. 220. If you have any information that you think may help police, contact State Police in Hollidaysburg, at 814 696-6100 or Pa Crime Stoppers at 800 4PA-TIPS.
