A story in the Altoona Mirror indicates that the city is waiting to see if the Altoona Redevelopment Authority can purchase the Keith athletic field from the Altoona Area School District. Talks are very informal at this point, but the district may want to sell the land to the highest bidder, then it would have no say as to how the land would be used. City councilman Ron Beatty says the land is probably not a good fit for single family homes, but could be used several different ways. The field is located on 13th street between 25th and 28th avenues.
