In a report from Harrisubrg, the Turnpike will get its money from you, thanks to an effort by the State Senate. A bill was passed this week that would authorize the dept of revenue to go after turnpike cheats by going after lottery winnings and income tax returns of those who do not pay their tolls. $104 million in uncollected tolls were reported in 2021, and last year, that total rose to $155 million. The bill would allow for the tolls to be collected from lottery winnings or from income tax returns. Anyone without an e-z pass, will have their license plate electronically photographed and sent to the driver with a bill for the toll charges.
