
The report states that because of false information put out on Facebook, some thought the Mt. Lion backpack program which feeds hungry children had been embezzeled to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Board member Dave Ellis told the Mirror that the information was not accurate, and there is no missing money, despite recent pleas for more donations. Blair County Community Action board President Lisa Hann says that someone is putting out false information just by making it up. Officials did say that funds are low because of inflation, and money they were counting on did not come through. Also there is no truth to a rumor that the backpack program was going to the Center for Community Action based in Bedford County.
