A report from Harrisburg suggests that Democrats favor the Governor’s proposal of registering voters when renewing their drivers licenses, saying it is very simple to do. Meanwhile, on the republican side of the issue, they say this could lead to hacking and create glitches in the system that could lead to voter fraud. Rep. Brian Smith said that Shapiro’s proposal is a political stunt that does nothing but wear down voters faith in the election process. Smith did also say that he wants every eligible Pennsylvanian to be able to cast their vote, but this way would cause security headaches for the voting process.
